Giuseppe Cicatelli on the Financial Revolution Beyond Fintech

The next transformation is not simply a better banking app. It is a change in how money moves, ownership is represented and risk is transferred.

  • Giuseppe Cicatelli, drawing on his investment banking background, argues that the next financial transformation goes beyond fintech apps, focusing on how money moves, ownership is represented, and risk is transferred through innovations like stablecoins, tokenized securities, and AI agents.
  • He emphasizes the importance of understanding the underlying legal structures, ownership rights, and operational risks associated with these new financial instruments, rather than just their technological interfaces or market access.
  • Cicatelli's investment thesis prioritizes genuine cost removal, clear ownership and liabilities, system resilience under stress, and durable revenue from useful activity, distinguishing true financial improvement from mere technological rebranding.

In May we listened.

In May we listened. In June we prototyped. In July, we built twice. First came the platform. Early in July, our beta came together as a working product - five layers that turn a property deal into a compliant digital security. Identity verified once and tied to wallet permissions, compliance rules enforced in the transfer logic (not in a PDF), Reg D 506(c) SPV structuring, programmable capital flows, and one dashboard to see it all. In my next post I will share more about the beta product. Then, two weeks later I got on a plane to Lisbon and built again. At ETHGlobal Lisbon our team built Passport Kit Node, the second generation of the compliance passport we prototyped in New York. NYC answered the question of how does a HUMAN verify KYC and accreditation once and carry those proofs anywhere? Lisbon asked the harder question of what happens when the operator isn't human? Passport Kit Node is an identity and authorization layer that lets AI agents operate tokenized real-world assets safely. Agents inherit their human operators eligibility instead of holding independent claims. World ID proves personhood without exposing identity (the chain learns 18+ and nothing else). Authority is temporary and revocable by design. One revocation makes every surface refuse at once, human and agent alike. Built with Privy, embedded wallets, EIP-712 claim signatures, ENS, and Uniswap v4 hooks, deployed on sepolia and launched publicly on the showcase floor. Here's why this matters. In June, the Agentic Finance Summit put agent payments on NYC's main screen. Everyone agrees the agents are coming to capital markets. Almost no one is building the compliant layer that decides what an AGENT is ALLOWED to do, and proves it on-chain. That's the bet we have made since day one - compliance isn't a feature you bolt on, it's the layer everything else stands on. Humans got their passport in New York. Agents got theirs in Lisbon. The beta is where both go to work. Miami gave us conviction. June gave us proof. July gave us a product, and it's next frontier that you can NOW verify via. a demo of our beta product Node Proptech. If you are building in agentic finance, on-chain identity, or RWA compliance. Comment or DM. The door is always open. #Tokenization #RWA #ETHGlobal #PropTech #Node

  • The article details the development of a platform that tokenizes property deals into compliant digital securities, focusing on identity verification and programmable capital flows.
  • A new product, Passport Kit Node, has been developed to enable AI agents to safely operate tokenized real-world assets by inheriting operator eligibility and utilizing World ID for personhood verification.
  • The core bet is on building a compliant layer for agentic finance, emphasizing that compliance is foundational rather than an add-on feature for the future of capital markets.
