BlackRock launched two tokenized money market products on August 3.

BlackRock launched two tokenized money market products on August 3.   BSTBL: OnChain Shares of the roughly $6.1 billion Select Treasury Based Liquidity Fund. On Ethereum. BNY Mellon as transfer agent.   BRSRV: Daily Reinvestment Stablecoin Reserve Vehicle. Multi-chain. Securitize as transfer agent. $3 million minimum.   What stands out is what these products are for. Both are designed to qualify as eligible reserve assets for GENIUS Act-permitted payment stablecoin issuers. BlackRock is not launching investment vehicles. It is building the reserve infrastructure for the next generation of dollar tokens.   US money market funds crossed $8.4 trillion. A growing slice of that demand comes from stablecoin issuers needing compliant yield-bearing reserves. Morgan Stanley, State Street, and Fidelity all launched similar vehicles. BlackRock is now in with two products plus BUIDL at $2.5 billion.   Zerohash added USDC conversion rails to BRSRV the same launch day. Reserve in, stablecoin out.   Important to note: GENIUS Act eligibility depends on final OCC and Treasury standards not yet issued.   Follow Settled Media Research to stay up to date. | 10 comments on LinkedIn

  • BlackRock has launched two tokenized money market products, BSTBL and BRSRV, designed to serve as eligible reserve assets for payment stablecoin issuers under the proposed GENIUS Act.
  • These products aim to provide compliant, yield-bearing reserves for stablecoin issuers, tapping into the significant demand from the U.S. money market fund sector.
  • The eligibility for the GENIUS Act is contingent on final standards from the OCC and Treasury, introducing an element of regulatory uncertainty.
